It is great to ask questions. That's how we learn. Some questions come up quite often, and this page will attempt to share the answers. It is not, however, a guarantee of correctness or legality. (In fact, please let us know if we are giving out incorrect info.) Here we go:
Q: What if I sell my home and have remaining membership for the year?
A: Once the sale of your home is complete before July 1, you may request a refund for the balance of the year, or you may transfer the remaining membership to the buyer of your home if you'd like.
Q: My spouse is too ill to participate in the club or use the facilities, but I would like to join by myself. May I?
A: A two-person home requires a $550 membership fee for the year unless one of the spouses is so ill as to never use the facility. Then, the active spouse can request a waiver to have an individual membership, but they must attest they will never bring the excused spouse to the club unless it is an event entirely open to the public. If the excused spouse attends any club-only event, the active spouse will have their membership revoked.
BUYING Question: How do I go about buying a home in Yuma East?
A: Contact a real estate agent. We do not have a management company for the neighborhood.
EVENT Question: Are any events at the club open to non-members who live in the neighborhood?
A: Veteran’s Day (no fee, ticket required), Fourth of July (for a fee, ticket required), and Fashion Show (for a fee, ticket required.)
EVENT Question: Are any events at the club open to the public?
A: Both Bingo and the annual Yard Sale are open to the public.
FACILITY RENTAL Question: Can I hold a private party at the club house?
A: Members are eligible to make rental arrangements for private parties for a fee providing their event does not conflict with scheduled club activities. Members are eligible to hold parties that are open to all club members to attend, and do not conflict with scheduled club activities without paying an additional fee. (Families of deceased members may schedule memorial observances, for a fee if private, or without a fee if open to all club members.)
TOUR THE CLUB Question: How can I tour the club? The door is always locked!

PLAN AN ACTIVITY Question: I would like to plan an activity at the club. Where do I begin?
A: Bring your detailed idea to the club secretary. We will help you explore the idea.

BUY A TICKET Question: When can I buy tickets for events?

A: If the family of the deceased gives the information directly to the club secretary it will be included in club communications.
GUEST Question: Can I bring my out-of-town house guests to the club?
A: Yes, your houseguests are welcome at the club. Please sign them in the register just inside the pool entrance to the club building. Your guests must purchase tickets for any ticketed event they are attending. Please note: A club member is required to accompany any guest while they are on club property.
YUMA EAST Question: Are the free-standing homes and the townhomes (a.k.a. "condominiums") all part of Yuma East?
A: Yes, and no. Lot owners and townhomes (condos) are both eligible for membership in the country club, but lot owners and townhome owners belong to separate HOAs. See YELOA (Yuma East Lot Owners Association) in the main menu.

REFUND Question: Can I get a refund on my membership? I’m not using it.
A: Not unless you sell your home and close the sale before July 1st of the current year.
RENTERS Question: Can I go to the club if I am renting a home or townhome (condo)?
A: You must purchase a membership to attend the club. Or your landlord may extend you the courtesy of letting you use their membership while you are renting the property. Landlords, please notify the secretary of any such arrangements. (Renters are not eligible for voting.)
PROPERTY SALE Question: If I sell my home, may I be reimbursed for my membership?
A: Yes, upon the closing of the sale, if it closes before July 1. You must request the reimbursement; it doesn’t happen automatically. Many sellers donate the remainder of their dues to the club or transfer the remainder to the new owner.
COUNTRY CLUB or LOT OWNERS ASSN Question: What is the difference between Yuma East Country Club and Yuma East Lot Owners Association?
A: They are two separate entities. Membership in the Country Club is optional. The payment of annual dues to the Lot Owners Association (currently $30 per year, per lot owned) is not optional. That fee is paid to the Lot Owners Association directly. The condos are not subject to the Lot Owners Association, but to their own HOA. (See YELOA.)
PETS Question: Can I have pets in Yuma East?
A: Yes. Lot owners are allowed to have a total of 4 dogs or cats. Check with your townhome (condo) HOA for any pet limits they may have. Other types of domestic pets are not limited. No chickens or livestock.

The conversation pool and hot tub are covered at night during cooler weather. You are welcome to uncover them for your use. Please re-cover them when you are finished.
SELLING SOMETHING Question: I have an item to sell. Where may I post it?
A: There is a bulletin board in the club for members to offer an item for sale. However, you may not advertise a line of products for sale on club property. Items for sale are not posted on the club website.
